Career

Admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 1997, Gabriel has 25 years of professional experience. He is recognised for his significant experience in European law with particular emphasis on European competition law (cartels, abuse of dominant position, joint ventures, state aid, merger control, distribution law) and sectoral regulation (gaz, electricity, transportation, telecommunications). He also advises on Luxembourg competition law, unfair competition law, administrative law and public law, public procurement law and procedures, in real estate and urban planning law, on new technologies, labour law and social security law.


Gabriel represents the law firm in the Labor Law group within the IR GLOBAL network. Gabriel was the first general rapporteur of the Inspectorate of Competition and has gained significant experience in European and Luxembourg competition law. He helped set up the new Luxembourg competition authorities in 2004. Gabriel is a founding member and President of the Luxembourg Association for the Study of Competition Law (ALEDC), he is a board member of APSI (Association luxembourgeoise des professionnels de la société de l’information), and member of APDL, the Luxembourg Data Protection Association. Gabriel is also the President of the Luxembourg National Committee of the Union International des Avocats (UIA). Before joining Bonn & Schmitt with his team in October 2020, Gabriel was a partner in his own law firm and in several reputable law firms. He regularly publishes articles on competition law.
